DR. SAIF ABBASI established Department of Sociology at International Islamic University, Islamabad in 2008 and currently working in the capacity of Associate Professor (BS-20). The department is currently offering BS, M.Sc and M.S. Programmes in Sociology wherein more than 350 students are pursuing their degree . Dr. Abbasi completed his Doctorate from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad in 2006. Besides earning M.Sc in Rural Sociology from the same university, he also obtained M.Sc in Rural Development from University of Sindh Jamshoro with 1st position. Dr. Abbasi was honoured with Higher Education Commission Best Teacher Award 2009. He has 23 research publications at his credit in  research journals of national and international repute. Before joining International Islamic University, he worked on various positions in Social Sciences Division, Pakistan Agriculture Research Council, Islamabad. Currently he is supervising research on various topics such as Impact of terrorism on child schooling, effect of two-pay-checks families on the social development of their children, effect of cartoon channel on children behavior, adjustment of female lawyer in legal system of Pakistan and changing profile of social sciences in Pakistan and its impact on quality of research.
